April 14, 2010

I have decided that since I won't be here (read: in this country) from the 19th to the 23rd of April, I better just make two more entries for this week.

Today we learned about the basic Olympus Camera: its parts, their uses, etc.

It has two lenses, the larger of which is used to reduce distortions. The distortions can be identified as

a) Pincushion - in which the image is compressed inward towards the center
b) Barrel - in which the image is expanded outward towards the edges and corners

How to attach the lens:
Remove the cover/s, match the red dots, and rotate counterclockwise (keep in mind you and the camera are facing the same direction) until you hear a definite click

How to detach lens:
Press the button and rotate it clockwise

The F-number controls the shutter speed, or the exposure to light.

It functions slower when it has less battery.

We will use the Olympus Camera to take pictures of Amorsolo's paintings, and other important things in the line of our work.
